All nine of the bandmembers wrote a song for the album and therefore it‘s rather diverse as usually, and listeners can hear both new and old elements from Ljótu Hálfvitarnir‘s music. The lyrical subject should be known by fans, but there might be a new thing or two as well: excessive consumption of alcohol from different angles, the powers above as well as below will have their say and a sailor song can be heard. Listener‘s will also hear about Scouts in love, an air traffic controller that‘s been drunk for a very long time and an unusual raven fetish.
The last album by Ljótu Hálfvitarnir was released three years ago. Part of that time the members have been busy with other projects, but when they met again the soon found out they had plenty of ideas so new songs came to live quickly. The new album was recorded earlier this year at Studio ReFlex by Axel Flex Árnason, and is released by Sena like the previous albums.
The band‘s first gig in Reykjavík after the album is released will of course take place at Café Rosenberg, but that‘s the band‘s home in Reykjavík. There‘ll be 2 concerts; on Friday 21st of June and Saturday 22nd of June. Both gigs start at 22:00.
