Naughty Dog Is Ready To Reveal Uncharted 4 (Updated) Featured

Written by

In October, 2013, one of our contacts told us that they knew Uncharted 4 was well in to development. Shortly after that they confirmed that Naughty Dog have a big surprise reveal coming before the end of the year. Today our source sort of confirmed that an Uncharted 4 reveal is imminent.

Before the all the talk of an upcoming Naughty Dog game our source claimed that Naughty Dog were preparing to reveal something big. It was revealed to us that Uncharted 4 had been in production/development for the past two years; we did a little bit of research and the evidence that we found clearly supported our sources claims, so naturally we reported it. A week later our source reported back stating that the next Naughty Dog game is definitely not Savage Starlight and most likely not even set in space. Only hours after we broke the news Christophe Balestra, Co-President of Naughty Dog, confirmed that the next Naughty Dog game would not be set in space. It seemed as though our source was definitely on to something hot, so we probed for some more answers.

Erina: Thanks for the leak. It seems as though the cat is out of the bag, everybody is talking about Uncharted 4 now.
Source: I wouldn't exactly call it a leak.
Erina: Isn't this information confidential?
Source: What information?
Erina: Uncharted 4 being in development, not being set in space, etc...
Source: I wouldn't presume. Most of what I've told you has since been confirmed by execs. or mainstream media.
Erina: Damage control? If the news has leaked why not just confirm it?
Source: It is a little revealing if they haven't really made an effort to deny this information. I think things would be a little bit different if I leaked actual assets of Uncharted 4.
Erina: Hold your horses! Uncharted 4 assets? You've seen them... they exist?
Source: Of course. What else do you expect from a game that's been approx. two years in development.
Erina: I know, it is just a little bit of a shock because there have been no leaks of anything UC4 related. You've seen Uncharted 4 in action?
Source: I've seen a small demo -- and from what they showed us I would definitely assume Naughty Dog are ready to reveal it.
Erina: Us?
Source: Please ignore that.
Erina: So, you are certain that Naughty Dog is about to reveal Uncharted 4... and this year?
Source: A PlayStation 4 reveal of some sorts for this year is being discussed by Naughty Dog, but it is only my educated guess that the game is, in fact, Uncharted 4. At my time at Naughty Dog all I saw was Uncharted... but I am not completely ignoring the fact that Naughty Dog may have a third team working on completely different game. I guess we'll just have to wait and see.
Erina: Thanks a lot for your time!
Source: No problem.

Our source has been right on numerous occasions, breaking news ahead of time so we have faith in his remarks about Uncharted 4. We believe Uncharted 4 is in development, other comments made by Naughty Dog certainly back up this fact, but whether we will actually see an Uncharted 4 reveal later this year remains yet to be seen... but is very likely.

Update: 10/11/2013 @ 18:34

My source has also confirmed that Uncharted 4 will NOT be coming to PlayStation 3 but does claim that there is another Uncharted game in development for PlayStation 3 and possibly Vita by another developer. I've included the full email transcript with vital information censored.
